Solar arcs and solar arc Time WindowsSolar arcsIn Clairvision Virtual Astrolgoer, solar arcs are listed in 'View', 'Listings', 'Planetary Arcs'. In a natal chart, what is the relation between the Sun and the other planets? The Sun stands for the Spirit. The other planets are but reflections of the Sun. Just as the logical development line for the astral body, seat of mental consciousness, is to become permeated with Spirit, so all the planets in a natal chart aim at being permeated by the enlightening influence of the Sun. In an astrology which aims at fostering spiritual growth, a thorough analysis of the relationship between the Sun and the other planets is therefore essential. What is the most solid element in chart interpretation? Aspects. Signs vary depending on whether you want to be a tropical or a sidereal astrologer. Houses vary from one system to the other. Aspects are not only constant from one system to another, but rest on a very natural division of the zodiac circle. Even with a mathematical background, one may have difficulty relating to why such a trisection system should be so much better than an another and thus chosen to determine houses cusps. But dividing a circle into 3 and 6, so as to obtain trines and sextiles, is a natural, direct operation which not only makes sense to the mind, but also speaks to the soul it is the most immediate application of sacred geometry one could conceive along the circle of planetary positions. Why are sextiles so much better than quintiles? Why have some aspects been declared 'major' and other 'minor'. This appears to be a more subjective field. Of course, one can say it is because 360 is more easily divided into 6 than into 5, and because astrology so far has rested on a twelve-fold division of the circle. But in terms of sacred geometry, there is no absolute reason why a circle should be divided into 12 rather than into 5, or any other number. Pondering on this concept leads to an expanded vision of aspects, in which meaning can be found not only when two planets are separated by nearly 120 or 60 degrees. Any angular distance between planets is significant the golden question being to determine what the meaning is. Solar arc Time WindowsAt the time of birth, suppose Mars was located 47°12' away from the Sun. This distance is the natal Mars solar arc. In relation to the yearly motion of the Sun, there is every year a moment when this Mars solar arc is repeated, that is, when the distance from the Sun to Mars is 47°12'. This is the Mars solar arc time window. A Solar Arc time window is the moment of the year when the distance between the Sun and a particular planet is identical to what it was in your birth chart. Note: the soli-lunar arcs are a special case of solar arcs, that is, the solar arcs to the Moon. Solar arcs are measured following the direct motion of the Sun along the zodiac. Thus, if a planet is in exact waning sextile to the Sun, that is, placed 'before' the Sun, its solar arc is 300° (360° minus 60°), and not 60°. Because they measure relative positions, the solar arcs are identical in the tropical and the sidereal zodiac. In Clairvision Virtual Astrologer, solar arc time windows are calculated in the 'Prediction Tools' window. Click on 'Time Windows', then 'Solar Arcs'. Meaning of Solar arc Time WindowsThe solar arc Time Windows are times when planets can be transpersonalized permeated by the enlightening influence of the Sun. They are times which are particularly favourable to operate shifts in the values the planet stands for in your life. Of course, you do not need an astrological conjunction to transpersonalize yourself. However, people involved in self transformation work know all too well that, despite all efforts, some aspects of the personality may resist attempts to change. Could it be that at certain moments in time, the astral body suddenly becomes more 'plastic', and that transformations can happen due to an 'irrational opening'? This is exactly the thinking which is behind all Time Windows. In deep inner work such as the Clairvision technique of ISIS, an important concept is that re-experiencing sources and origins is always a fertile transformative experience. This can be understood in several ways. At the moment of birth, for instance, a number of psychological features are stamped on you which is why, when working at transforming yourself, you may have such shifts when re-experiencing your own birth. Returning to the source, the time when a number of things were set in motion, is often the best way to undo them, that is, to initiate a new start in your present condition. Solar arcs Time Windows are precisely this: moments of when the relationships between Sun and planets are identical to what they were at birth. | |||
