Planets in dignity, detriment, exultation and fall

Depending on the sign in which it is placed, a planet is sometimes said to be in dignity, detriment, exaltation, or fall.

These astrological concepts are quite traditional and ancient, but they do not seem to us to have much value in practice. (They are moreover part of the elements which differ considerably depending on whether you are using the tropical or the sidereal zodiac.)
